Elevate your basics. In this case, overalls. You have a pair? Bring them out to play! It's one of those transitional items in your wardrobe that can be worn all year long, in so many different ways. With heels, sandals, sneakers, sweaters, leather, tanks, I can go on and on! For this particular look, I wanted an elevated, but casual, urban-ie vibe with an edgy twist, if that makes any sence. So I opted to wear them with boots. I chose these Tony Bianco ones because of the hardware, which gives me that edgy element I needed.
The light acid wash on these Forever21 overalls are perfect. I'm all for an 80's revival! Plus it helps conceal the ocasional spit up and spill, for those of us with kiddos! I wore a heather grey turtle neck from Zara (old, but similar here) and this Emilia coat brings about a certain sophistication and completes my look. The best part is? Everything is under $50! Minus the boots of course. I'm a firm believer that style does not have to break the bank. Although I appreciate and love luxe items, realistically speaking, I can't go out and spend a fortune on shoes & clothes every time. Choose to splurge on classic items that will last. A pair of shoes or a great bag can elivate any look. Those items have the potential to carry their value and can make you some profit if you decide to sell in the future.
Anyway, Last but not least I completed my look with these amazing sunnies by Karen Walker I found at Barneys. Seriously though, these sunnies are everything and worth the investment! They have a substantial weight to them, but feel perfectly snug on the bridge of your nose. The lenses offer superb protection against sunlight and the mirrored effect is just so so cool!
