Oh my it's been a while since I last posted anything to my blog! Sorry for being lazy about it but truth is, once I get a moment to actually work on the blog I never make it to my desk and get lost cleaning or online shopping on my phone. Oops! I have so many ideas but never enough time to execute them. How do you other bloggers do it?! Anyone got tips on time managment other than staying up way late? I guess with time I'll find a way to manage it better. And to be honest, instagram has become a visual blog of sorts. It's so much easier sometimes and always accecible. I hate to bore you with my rants because I have nothing exciting to say, but I wanted to share this look I posted a few weeks ago on instagram. Cool satin bombers are major for spring/summer. Solid colored ones, embroidered ones, color blocked ones, metallics, ect. Wear them all sorts of ways. Here I'm wearing my sisters bomber she found a while back but with just a change of shoes your look can go from lunch date to drinks with the girls! FYI, my top and both shoes are from Tarjaaaay! Oh yeah girls, love me a good deal! xoxo, Karina
So I returned to work this week and it's taking a bit to get back into the swing of things. So sad to leave my babies behind but leaving them with my mom leaves me with zero stress. I know she will take care and love them like they were hers. My first day back was hilarious, as I stumbled over myself to try and get my grove back. But, by the end of the week it's all coming back! For those of you who don't know, I work In the O.R so I have to be on my toes and anticipate my surgeons next move! Speaking of moves, It comes as no surprise that I love pieces I can move in plus hide that huge burrito I had for lunch! Haha.. This look in particular does just that, and easy to put together and throw on for early mornings. But it is also feminine and gives off an urban cool vibe. The long slip dress adds that romantic touch and the olive duster with side slits gives me a bit of structure. Loving these low pointed boots from Zara and have been wearing them a lot lately. Super affordable and comfortable to wear all day!
Usually we talk about adding a pop of color but what about white? I think white really pops and in this look it was just right. What do you think? What are your favorite "pops of color" in a look? Comment below!
I don't know about you but when talks about a power suit come up, most would think of a streamlined blazer and slacks. To me though, a power suit involves LEATHER! Ya baby! There is just something that takes over me when I slip myself into these faux leather moto trousers and a leather jacket. I feel like a badass when in reality I'm quite the opposite.
These are my go to trousers from Zara. Looooove them!! So happy I can fit back into them 3 months postpartum, but as the weather starts warming up I really can only wear them evenings in the summer. Otherwise it will be like that episode of Friends where Ross wears leather pants on a date and needs to use the restroom to give his "parts" a breather and then can't pull them back up! Haha! No bueno.
Moto pants are so versitle. My favorite way to wear them is with a simple white T and boots. Dress them up with heels like I did here or down with sneakers. And play with accessories! Isn't being a girl so fun?! Wink wink. Xoxo
Give a pop to an all black look with a bold print!
Motherhood- To love another human far deeper than anyone or anything else on this earth. To care for and nurture these little innocent souls has truly been a beautiful ride. Meet Esmé, my mini me from day one! She is by far an alert little lady wanting to know whats going on around her at all times. It's hard to believe she came into this world just three months ago! She's such a good baby and we are beyond blessed and lucky to have her. When she smiles I just want to squish her and kiss her to death! haha. She thinks her brother is the funniest person and loves for me to read and sing to her. The time I have spent with her is magical and it kills my soul I'll have to return to work in two weeks!(insert crying, sad face emoji) Although, I have to be honest and say I do miss my independence, and being at work allows me to hone in on my technical skills. At least at work I can pee in peace without having my three year old barge in! haha.
Mama's, don't you sometimes feel like you can't catch a break? Between work, chores, dinner time, bath time, story time, where is the ME time? I mean, I'd like to say I don't stress too much about life in general but I do struggle with guilt. Guilty that I didn't play with him when he asked because I was washing the dishes or making dinner, guilty I didn't take them to the park because I was rearranging my furniture. Guilty that I want to go shopping. ALONE. I guess what I'm trying to say is we don't HAVE to be stimulating our kids minds 24/7. It's ok to do the things we need to do or take time for ourselves without feeling guilty about it. I believe it makes us better mothers if we take a little breather here and there. Date nights are also very important. Javier and I try to get out at least once a month for the classic dinner and a movie. Although, lately I've been a cheap date and prefer falling asleep! haha
Ok, how cute is this blouse from Shein?! Im still nursing, so blouses that are easier for me to nurse in has major points in my book. It has an elastic top I can just pull down when I need to, and just dying over these cascading ruffle sleeves. Bonus, you wouldn't believe it's under $20!
I shot with a cap and without just to show how easily you can take this look more caj. Just insert sneakers or some cute mules!
This is the backpack I use as a diaper-bag. Super cute and It's so much more convenient for me than the tote I carried for my son. Fits everything I need and so much easier to carry. I used to carry pack everything under the sun, but I've learned to condense it's contents to just 6 diapers, baby wipes, face and hand wipes, a change of clothes and socks, burping cloth, swaddle cloth rolled up, nipple cream, hair brush, breast pads, butt ointment, thermometer, travel hand sanitizer, sun block and snacks for my toddler. Sounds like a lot, but in reality it isn't. Plus, I upgraded this back-pack with fun bag charms too!
